Students, help the MSO spread the word about upcoming concerts by distributing posters around campus or local businesses, and/or be a welcoming presence as a lobby greeter during MSO concert weekends (choose from Friday, Saturday, or Sunday performances). You’ll receive a pair of tickets to the concert(s) you help promote as a thank you for your time!

Concert Greeter

Education Programs

The Docent Program
Volunteers paired with MSO musicians visit participating elementary schools prior to the Fall Youth Concerts. Docents lead fun, interactive discussions to prepare students for the exciting experience of a live Madison Symphony Orchestra concert in Overture Hall. We provide the training to make sure that the visit is effective and entertaining for everyone!

Youth Concert Auditions
Assist with youth competition auditions and serve as a volunteer at the youth concerts greeting guests in attendance. Volunteers are needed for the Bolz Young Artist Competition and the Fall Youth Concerts.
