A MILLENIUM OF ENCHANTING VOICES
For nearly 1000 years inspiring choral music has filled the vast cathedral of London's Westminster Abbey, the site of every British coronation since 1066. Now, this renowned choir comes to Madison to sing with the Overture Concert Organ as we celebrate the 10th anniversary season of this gorgeous instrument in a program of music by Orlando Gibbons, Handel, Parry, and Walton.
Highlight performances by this enchanting choir in recent years have included the Service of Evening Prayer with Pope Benedict XVI and the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in April 2011, which was seen by a worldwide television audience of over two billion people. The 40 voices of men and boys will perform music from the Renaissance to the 21st Century in the vast expanse of Overture Hall.
