FAQs
What safety measures will be in place to attend a concert in Overture Hall?

The actual safety measures that will be in effect are unknown. We are closely monitoring recommendations and guidelines made by Overture Center, state and county health officials, as well as the CDC. It is worth noting, that state and local heath requirements supersede CDC recommendations. We will adhere to all public health guidelines and cooperate with Overture Center for the Arts to assure your safety.

Will masks be required for performances in Overture Center for the Arts?

As this time Overture Center states that masks will be required to be worn by all patrons in the venue. Other COVID-19 related health protocols may also be in effect at the time of your performance. Protocols are subject to change between now, and when our first performances begin in the fall.

“Will I need to show proof of vaccination to attend a concert?”

Due to the ongoing pandemic, at this time, we are not sure if proof of vaccination will be required.

Where can I find current information about Overture Center safety protocols?

Overture Center’s current COVID-19 protocols can be found at overture.org/health.

“Will I receive a refund if a Madison Symphony Orchestra concert is canceled?”

Yes! We guarantee a refund for tickets to any concert that cannot be performed for any reason. You will also have the opportunity to donate the value of your tickets back to the Symphony.

“If I’m uncomfortable renewing my season subscription at this time, how long will you hold my seats?”

Though the deadline for renewing is June 16, we will hold your seats until June 23. If you are still uncertain about your comfort level at that time, please contact us for a possible further extension. (608) 257-3734

“Why are there only 7 concerts in the subscription package for the 21/22 season?”

Overture Center is planning to open October, and many orchestras like ours are as well. We determined that this would be the optimal time for us to begin a seven concert subscription season.

“Why isn’t Beethoven’s 9th Symphony included in the 21/22 symphony season subscription package?

We had hoped to include this work in our subscription package for this season. If we have an opportunity to perform it, we will!

“I was a New Subscriber for the previous 2020-2021 season, though it did not take place. Will I still receive the New Subscriber price?” YES!

We appreciate that you chose to become a new subscriber, and are excited to welcome you back this season. Yes, we are offering you the same New Subscriber pricing for the 21/22 season! If you are ordering online, please use the New Subscriber form.
