Concert on the Green

Save the New Date: June 20, 2022
A Day of Golf. An Evening of Music, Food & Fun.
Please note that we have decided to postpone the event that was planned for summer 2021 until next year. We hope that you will join us to support the Madison Symphony Orchestra at our annual Concert on the Green. Proceeds from the event benefit the MSO’s nationally-recognized Education and Community Engagement Programs which reach 25,000 people annually through 60+ schools in South Central Wisconsin and over 10 centers for adults with disabilities and long-term illnesses. Help us share the joy of live classical music with thousands of children and adults in our community!
We appreciate the efforts of all of our committee members, special guests, volunteers and the generosity of the sponsors and donors who committed to supporting us this year. We anticipate that many of you will join us next year. Below, you’ll find highlights of the event we’re planning for next summer, as well as photos from 2019 and sponsors who committed to supporting us in 2020.

Satisfy your senses! The immaculate grounds of Bishops Bay overlooking Lake Mendota set the stage for an enchanting cocktail party complete with hors d’oeuvres. Relax and enjoy your old and new friendships with a delicious array of passed hors d’oeuvres prepared by the chef at Bishops Bay, and your favorite drinks at a cash bar.
Have a seat in our airy lakeside tent for a concert of light classics performed by members of the Madison Symphony Orchestra under the direction of John DeMain. Silent auction winner Lynn Van Campen will also conduct, and a winner of The Final Forte in the Bolz Young Artist Competition will join the MSO for a special performance!
You’ll enjoy an elegant gourmet picnic dinner, served by the exceptional staff at Bishops Bay. After dinner, adjourn to the Club House for after-dinner drinks and more conversation.
Participate in the optional daytime golf tournament (scramble format). Bishops Bay recently completed a comprehensive redesign and update of its golf course, including an 18th hole totally changed to reward golfers with a view of Lake Mendota at all tees. Play for a chance to wine prizes with your team, or as an individual golfer! Prizes include cash, Bishops Bay clubhouse credits and a chance to win a car in the Hole-in-One contest.
Watch this space for a listing of prizes that you can win.
What if it rains?
In the event of rain, the cocktail party, concert, and picnic will proceed as scheduled in the shelter of our lakeside tent. Golfers who are signed up and paid can play at their convenience at Bishops Bay.
