Grace Kim, The Final Forte 2019 winner performs “Londonderry Air,” an Irish folk song, and an excerpt from the 4th movement of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto

A new story in this series features Grace Kim, winner of The Finale Forte 2019. Grace performs two works. The first is “Londonderry Air,” an Irish folk song. The second piece is an excerpt from the 4th movement of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto.

Between performances Grace shares her passion for playing music and the energy she felt playing with our orchestra in The Final Forte, that is far different from playing alone or with just a piano. She goes on to express her views about the power of classical music as something everyone can enjoy in their own way, no matter who they are. Experiences playing again at Concert on the Green, advice for aspiring young musicians, and dreams she has for the future to play with a professional orchestra, as well as hopes to attend a top music school, are among the other thoughts Grace shared with us.
