A lifetime of learning…
The Madison Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to providing outstanding educational and community engagement opportunities throughout south-central Wisconsin. Reaching over 25,000 children and adults each year, we engage music enthusiasts of all ages and abilities through our partnerships with schools, community centers, and assisted living facilities. Join us as we embark on a journey to enrich, engage and inspire!

Award-winning Education Programs
Multiple MSO programs throughout the year help bring the valuable experience of classical music to youth and adults in our community — both inside and outside of the concert hall. Learn more about our Young Artist Competitions, Young People’s Concerts, Up Close & Musical®, and more.

Community Engagement
We’re proud to bring world-renowned musicians and conductors into the community to connect with music lovers of all ages to offer the opportunity for more people to experience the joy and healing power of music. Learn about HeartStrings® and other programs that have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Prelude Discussions
One hour prior to select Symphony concerts, Prelude Discussions help de-mystify the music that will be performed in the program. The half-hour talks feature experts who enlighten concertgoers to enrich their listening experience. The pre-concert talks are free to all ticket holders.
