Young Artist Competitions
Our spring and fall concerto competitions offer outstanding young musicians the chance to win scholarships and perform with the MSO.
Young People’s Concerts
Every year the MSO offers several concerts designed specifically for school-aged students. These concerts take place at the Overture Center to create exciting musical experiences with long-lasting impacts.
Up Close and Musical®
Up Close and Musical brings the power and beauty of classical music into the classrooms of elementary schools throughout Dane County. Our Hunt Quartet musicians visit classrooms to conduct exciting and interactive lessons that send students on a hunt for the concepts of melody, rhythm, expression, and form. They then demonstrate these concepts in a performance for the whole school!
Master Classes
The MSO is proud to offer free master classes with world-class soloists and conductors at partnering local schools.
