Endowment Giving

Madison Symphony Orchestra’s endowment plays a vital role in providing financial support to further the Symphony’s mission. Distributions from our endowment provide approximately 17% of the Symphony’s annual income.

More than 2/3 of the investments are held by the Madison Symphony Orchestra Foundation. The remaining investments are held by the Madison Community Foundation.

Endowment gifts may be made for general or specific purposes. Naming opportunities are available at giving levels that have been approved by the MSO Board of Directors.

How can I contribute to the endowment?

  • Make an outright gift of cash or other assets during your lifetime. Gifts may be pledged and paid in installments on a schedule to be agreed upon between you and the Symphony.
  • Create a bequest or other planned/deferred gift  in your estate plan.
