Director of Finance (Full Time)
The Madison Symphony Orchestra seeks a strategic, analytically strong, and collaborative finance professional to serve as Director of Finance. This role is a key thought partner to the Executive Director and a member of the senior leadership team. The Director of Finance will be responsible for all finance and business operations functions, including accounting, financial reporting, payroll (staff and musician), budgeting, compliance, legal affairs, reports and surveys, insurance, administrative operations, and support for governance. The Director of Finance will ensure that Madison Symphony Orchestra remains financially resilient, operationally sound, and aligned with best practices, while fostering collaboration, and transparency. This position will close applications on Friday, May 8th, 2026.

Orchestra Auditions
The MSO is a fully orchestrated, part time professional ensemble comprised of 91 contracted, per-service musicians, offering approximately 80 services per season. Auditions for the 2025-26 season are completed. Please check back for future audition opportunities.
The Madison Symphony is proud to be a partner orchestra of the National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS), an unprecedented national initiative to increase diversity in American orchestras. NAAS will do so by offering Black and Latinx musicians a customized combination of mentoring, audition preparation, financial support, and audition previews. Learn more at www.auditionalliance.org.
Madison Symphony Chorus Auditions
