The 20th Season of the Overture Concert Organ concluded with an Empire Brass Reunion, a commission for the season, and a balloon drop and custom cookies! We were so excited to welcome alumni of the acclaimed Empire Brass to Overture to perform 10 years after their last performance in 2015. We were also excited to welcome back trombonist Mark Hetzler to share the stage with Greg Zelek. Read audience reviews and check out photos from the night below!

Hear what the audience had to say…

“The performance was fantastic! The organ and brass fit together beautifully – it was a perfect balance of individual instruments and combined. What a treat to be able to hear music composed specifically for this night. Thank you for an amazing experience!”

“The entire performance was spectacular. The musicians were top notch. The musical selections were varied and fun. And the commentary was interesting and lively. Greg and the musicians from the Empire Brass held my attention from beginning to end.”

“The music, the instrumentalist and their musicianship, creative programming, the intimacy of the concert, and the engaging nautre of the musicians. The evening was relaxing and fun.”

“I really enjoyed hearing Greg and the other members of the performance talk to the audience. It made it all feel much less stuffy and more like a recital or like we were guests of theirs, not just people they were performing for who bought tickets.”

“It was fabulous! The fact that it was a REUNION – and a collaboration between Greg and Mark was very special. Loved every minute. And the balloon drop at the end was an amazing surprise!”
