Party
of Note
Tuesday, February 5, 2019
5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The first Madison Symphony Orchestra League Party of Note of the year provides a rare glimpse behind-the-scenes at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, taking us into the Works on Paper Gallery.
Artist Grant Wood (best known for his ‘American Gothic’) and other well-known Midwestern artists, are highlights in this tour, led by director Stephen Fleischman and curator Mel Becker Solomon. View works by progressive Wisconsin artists Warrington Colescott and William Weege and more notables from the museum’s permanent collection — illuminating diverse connections to music in art.
Post tour, enjoy wines and hors d’oeuvres while mingling with other like-minded art and music enthusiasts at Fresco’s rooftop restaurant and lounge. Darcy Kind and Valerie Kazamias are generously sponsoring this party. Proceeds benefit the Madison Symphony Orchestra’s Education and Community Engagement Programs.
