Linda Kimball will be retiring at the end of this concert season after 36 years of service to the Madison Symphony. She first joined the orchestra in 1987 as Section Horn, and then became Principal Horn in 2003.

General Manager Ann Bowen said, “It is hard for me to find the words — Linda has been such a positive influence on this organization, both musically and professionally.  Retirement will allow her to pursue her other passions (mostly by bicycle!) with her husband Frank Hanson, former MSO 2nd trumpet for 35 years. Together and separately, they left an indelible mark on the orchestra.”

The Madison Symphony Orchestra will be holding auditions for Principal Horn in addition to Section Cello, Section Violin, and Section Viola in May and June. More details can be found below and on our Employments & Auditions Page.
