Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte
FREE Concert & Competition!
Wednesday, March 6, 7:00 p.m.

Join four outstanding young musicians in Overture Hall on Wednesday, March 6 as they perform with the Madison Symphony Orchestra under the baton of John DeMain in the final round of the 2024 Bolz Young Artist Competition! The four finalists are:

Katarina Kenney, cello — Elgar, Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, 4th mvmt
Elliot Lesperance, marimba — Abe, Prism Rhapsody
Andre Peck, piano — Saint-Saëns, Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, 1st mvmt
Jane Story, violin — Mendelssohn, Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, 1st mvmt

You can register to attend this FREE concert, or watch or listen to the broadcast live on PBS Wisconsin, or Wisconsin Public Radio. Audience members must arrive by 6:45 p.m. prior to the beginning of the live broadcast. No tickets will be issued and seating is general admission in select areas of the hall.

Join us for two exclusive social gatherings following our April concerts, Boundless Beauty! Each event offers a unique opportunity to mingle with MSO Musicians, Music Director John DeMain, and other special guests. All tickets are $50 and include a a Circle-level seat at the concert, plus access to a post-concert reception at The Rigby, featuring hors d’oeuvres and complimentary beverages. Free Rhapsodie Quartet Recital
Tuesday, February 27 at 7:00pm – Capitol Lakes

Join the Rhapsodie Quartet next Tuesday for a performance that is free and open to the public! This ensemble brings together some of the brightest stars of the Madison Symphony Orchestra: Co-Concertmaster Suzanne Beia, Principal Violist Christopher Dozoryst, Principal Cellist Karl Lavine, and violinist Laura Burns. More than just a string quartet, the ensemble is the resident ensemble of our award-winning HeartStrings Community Engagement Program. United in mission, the members of the quartet create a fusion of talent, passion, and heart in their performances.
