MSO on the Go: Waunakee Community High School

Join us next week at the Waunakee Community High School for our MSO On the Go concert! Under the baton of MSO Associate Conductor Kyle Knox you’ll have the opportunity to experience your Symphony live outside of Overture Hall. You will get the amazing opportunity to witness Mac Earleywine-Fayas lead the orchestra for Bizet’s Farandole during the concert.

Upcoming Concerts – You’re Invited!

Organ Performance – Limmie Pulliam
Tuesday, February 25th at 7:30 pm

Limmie Pulliam awed our Madison audience with his performances in Madison Opera’s Tosca and our own 2023 MSO Christmas concert. MSO Organist, Greg Zelek will join forces with Mr. Pulliam in a program featuring some of the most well-known operatic arias, gospel works arranged for organ and tenor, and solo organ arrangements of opera overtures and instrumentals. We can’t wait to bring Mr. Pulliam back to wow our audience once again!

The 2025 Final Forte
Wednesday, March 5th at 7:00 pm

Come hear our four finalists in the Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte which is a FREE concert that will be held in our Overture Hall. It will also be broadcasted live at 7:00 p.m. on PBS Wisconsin and Wisconsin Public Radio on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The four finalists are: Atticus Coen, Piano (Senior, Sun Prairie East High School), Indre Raghavan, Violin (Junior, Middleton High School), Vivian Van de Sype Cucu, Viola (Senior, University School of Milwaukee) and Lucy Wu, Cello (Junior, Whitefish Bay High School).

Forward Theater: Summer, 1976

Now-February 16th

Forward Theater’s current production running now is Summer, 1976 by David Auburn. The summer of America’s Bicentennial finds Diana, an artist, and Alice, a professor’s wife, thrown together through a faculty babysitting co-op at Ohio State. As they navigate migraines and marriage crises, tantrums and road trips, they build an expansive and intimate friendship as full of possibility, and as fleeting, as summer. The show will take place at The Playhouse at Overture Center and feature Colleen Madden and Heidi Armbruster in alternating roles!

Children’s Theater of Madison: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella 
February 14th-23rd

Directed by Brian Cowing, this timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity. Be transported to a miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true with famous songs such as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible,” and “Stepsister’s Lament.” This Enchanted Edition is inspired by the 1997 teleplay starring Brandy and Whitney Houston. Madison Ballet: Mozart and More
February 14th-23rd

Mozart and More celebrates the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in our second repertory program of the 2024/25 season, with a beautiful program featuring some of his most beloved compositions performed with live music. Highlights include a world premiere by Ja’ Malik, choreographed to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 with live music, and the Madison premiere of Stephanie Martinez’s The Time That Runs Away, created as a co-production with American Repertory Ballet. The program also includes a world premiere by Richard Walters and the Madison premiere of Ja’ Malik’s critically acclaimed work The Hour Before featuring a live string quartet.
