The Madison Symphony Orchestra has received a major bequest of $400,000 from the estate of William Wartmann, an Edgerton resident and philanthropist who passed away in June of this year. In appreciation of his bequest, and in fulfillment of his wish, the Symphony is pleased to announce the permanent naming of our Concertmaster chair: The William and Joyce Wartmann Chair.

“Bill’s philanthropic legacy, particularly with arts and cultural organizations in our community, is quite remarkable,” said the MSO’s Executive Director, Rick Mackie. “The Symphony is so pleased to name our Concertmaster chair in the Wartmanns’ memory. This endowment is a significant financial boost for us, as Bill’s gift will support our Concertmaster position in perpetuity.”

The Madison Symphony Orchestra offers chair and program naming opportunities as part of its endowment fundraising efforts. For more information, contact Director of Development Casey Oelkers at (608) 260-8680 x228 or coelkers@madisonsymphony.org
