Single tickets for all 2022–2023 Symphony concerts go on sale Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. — tickets range in price from $20-98 for subscription concerts or $18-74 for Beyond the Score®. All single tickets are sold through the Overture Center Box Office, 201 State Street. Buy tickets online, in-person, or over the phone at (608) 258-4141. The season opens with Infinite Joy featuring Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Mozart’s Oboe Concerto with guest soloist Marc Fink, September 23–25. Learn more about the season premiere. The Madison Symphony Orchestra League invites you to a memorable evening in support of the MSO’s Education and Community Engagement Programs at the Madison Concourse Hotel on Friday, September 9. The John DeMain Award for Outstanding Commitment to Music will be presented to Judy Topitzes. Registration is open until Friday, August 26.
Fall Youth Concerto Competition
Applications are being accepted through Wednesday, September 7 for our Fall Youth Concerto Competition! The competition is open to Wisconsin students in grades 3 to 8 and takes place on Saturday, September 17. The winner(s) typically have the opportunity to play with the MSO and for their peers during the Fall Youth Concerts on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Planned Giving: August is National Make-a-Will Month August is National Make-a-Will Month. Everyone, regardless of their financial situation, should have a written estate plan. Having a plan helps to ensure your assets are handled according to your wishes. Many individuals choose to benefit the people and causes they care most about by designating planned gifts through their will or living trust. Making a bequest to the Madison Symphony Orchestra through your will can be completed with as little as one sentence and can be adjusted in the event life circumstances change. Quartessence String Quartet Concert Sunday, August 7 The Quartessence String Quartet, with musicians from the Madison Symphony Orchestra, will be giving a concert at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7 at the Brown Church in Lone Rock, WI, playing Classical and American Traditional Music. Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for students. Learn more about the event here. Token Creek Music Festival September 3-11 The Token Creek Chamber Music Festival, established in 1989, takes place annually at the home of John and Rose Mary Harbison, who serve as the Festival’s artistic directors. Spanning a little over a week, Festival events include concerts, lecture-recitals, open rehearsals, and forums. Learn more about the programs and events offered throughout the festival.
