Endowment Giving
Madison Symphony Orchestra’s endowment plays a vital role in providing financial support to further the Symphony’s mission. Distributions from our endowment provide approximately 20% of the Symphony’s annual income.
Approximately 3/4 of the investments are held by the Madison Symphony Orchestra Foundation. The remaining investments are held by the Madison Community Foundation.
Endowment gifts may be made for general or specific purposes. Naming opportunities are available at giving levels that have been approved by the MSO Board of Directors.
How can I contribute to the endowment?
- Make an outright gift of cash or other assets during your lifetime. Gifts may be pledged and paid in installments on a schedule to be agreed upon between you and the Symphony.
Please note, due to its classification as a Supporting Organization under section 509 (a) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, Madison Symphony Orchestra Foundation Inc. is not able to accept Qualified Charitable Distributions from Individual Retirement Accounts. If you are interested contributing to the endowment directly through your IRA, please contact us for further instructions.
- Create a bequest or other planned/deferred gift in your estate plan.
