MSOL Connect — Finding the Humor in Classical Music
Join us Monday, June 29 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at our online gathering — “Humor and Classical Music” — where members can learn more about the amusing aspects of classical music and how comedy is expressed in music.
Steve Kurr, a dynamic instructor and conductor, will host the session and talk about Humor and Classical Music: “Seemingly separate subjects, both close to the hearts of many. An intersection between them has been explored for centuries. We will sample some of the wonderful results. From Medieval chant to modern parodies, be ready to have your funny bone tickled.” You won’t want to miss Steve’s extraordinary presentation and the discussion that follows!
All sessions are open to MSOL members at no charge; up to 100 participants can be accommodated. After registration, you will receive the Zoom invitation with instructions about attending the event. Registration will close June 26 at 3 p.m.

MSOL Connect LaunchOur new online program MSOL Connect launched on June 15 with a great Beethoven presentation and discussion by Steve Kurr. Thanks to everyone who attended this first event!

Call for VolunteersSeeking sewing enthusiasts needed to make MSOL-themed face masks!
We will likely be wearing face masks to reduce coronavirus transmission for some time to come. Why not have some fun with it and show your MSOL spirit? The League will provide decorative material to members who wish to sew protective face masks for personal use or donate to MSOL for possible fundraising. The basic masks will need additional tightly woven material as a base; a suggested pattern and helpful hints will be provided.

MSOL Membership Renewal ReminderIf you haven’t done so, please renew your membership for the 2020–2021 fiscal year which begins July 1, 2020. Our annual dues are the following: individual $35 and household $50.

The Madison Symphony Orchestra League (MSOL) continues its tradition of volunteers in service to the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) reaching back to 1956. Over 375 members give of their time, energy and financial support to benefit MSO’s nationally-recognized Education and Community Engagement Programs. By participating in fundraising and social events, MSOL members can share their appreciation and excitement for classical music with others, contribute to the enrichment of the community and one of America’s finest regional orchestras.
