Updates to Concerts & Events

Updated: 9/13/20

To our friends of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, we are grateful for your support and continue to monitor information and guidelines coming from local, state and federal health officials with respect for the coronavirus pandemic. For more information on how we’re responding to current events, visit our Summer/Fall Q&A page.

Madison Symphony Orchestra Concerts and Events — September 2020 through January 2021 Update

On June 25th, Overture announced that it would be suspending all performances through November 2020. Due to Overture Center’s decision, and requirements of the FORWARD DANE Phased Reopening Plan for Dane County, the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has reluctantly canceled MSO Concerts and Overture Concert Organ performances through January 2021, since the Dane County plan does not permit audiences of more than 100 people in Overture Hall through its first three phases. While we consider alternative programming opportunities, we will issue refunds to subscribers for the value of their tickets to these performances. Read our press release for more information.

Canceled 20/21 Symphony Concerts Include:
Sept. 25–27, Infinite Joy: Beethoven’s Ninth
Oct. 16–18, Ravishing Rhapsody
Nov. 13–15, Grand Panorama
Dec. 4–6, A Madison Symphony Christmas
Jan. 24, Beyond the Score®: Stravinsky, The Rite of Spring

TAKE NOTE: Symphony season concerts in February, March, April, and May 2020 are still scheduled to take place as planned.
